Looking Back on My Travels in 2017

2017 has come and gone. It has been a busy and fulfilling year for me. I went for two vacations and several business trips.

In early March, before I started the new chapter of my career, I had a six-day getaway to Macau and Hong Kong. I enjoyed myself at Macau, a city that presents both the old world charm (Ruins of St Paul’sSt Anthony’s Church & Camoes GardenRua do Cunha, and Taipa Village ) and the glitzy sin city (Asia’s Sin City and Parisian at Cotai Strip).

In my new role, a local role, but having said that, I have made six business trips in nine months. In April, on my second day of work, I flew to Phuket for training. I had an enjoyable time, got to know my new colleagues and spent the first day for team building session, followed by two full days of training. Right after the training, I headed to Bangkok for a planning meeting.

In July, I went to Bintan and Kuala Lumpur for various planning meetings. With the number of business trips in a short span of five months, my dad asked if I am in a regional or local role.

Came August, it was time to fly to the US for our annual sales conference. Together with my colleagues, we spent a couple of days at San Francisco then took a domestic flight to Las Vegas where our sales conference was held.

In late October, I took leave for an eleven-day vacation to Kyushu, Japan to celebrate my birthday. As it was our first road trip, I did a bit of planning on the travel route, booking of accommodation, car rental, must-dos, and visits. I am still in the midst of sorting out the photos. Stay tuned for my posts in the coming weeks.

Lo and behold, just when I taught I can slow down for the year end, I had to fly to Raleigh, North Carolina, for a business trip in end November. It was a six-day trip inclusive of the round-trip travel time of more than sixty hours of flight and transit. It was a fruitful trip and I am glad I was there. The bonus of the trip was the great weather and I got to see the autumn foliage just before we left for the airport to catch our flight back.

2017 was a busy and fulfilling year. I constantly remind myself to slow down and reflect. Blogging helps me to live intentionally and purposefully. Gonna write about my vacation to Kyushu, to relive the experience. Stay tuned!

Looking forward to visiting and explore more new places in 2018.
