2017 Favourites

We have come to the last Weekly Photo Challenge of 2017. I have not been actively participating in the Weekly Photo Challenge this year unlike in 2016. As this is the final Challenge of the year, I shall not miss it.

Lots happened this year, both personal life and work life. 2017 is a very busy year for me. I did a bit of travelling, both leisure and business. Now we are at end of the year, a time to slow down, relax and look back on my 2017 personal favourite posts.

What is Simplicity?  After blogging for a good six months, that’s when I decided it was time to put down in words on what I meant by living a life of simplicity and living for experiences.

How Blogging Impacted My Life  I have been on this blogging journey for more than a year. I started blogging when I took a career break and with lots of time on hand to reflect and write. Then I started work and once again my time is very much consumed by my busy work schedule. I am glad blogging helps me to slow down, take a deep breath and reflect.

Do’s & Don’ts for Solo Female Traveller As I have been travelling solo most of the time when I was on business, I thought I should share my experiences and learnings to other female travellers that may find helpful. Stay safe, be situation aware and enjoy your trip.

My Reverse Bucket List  Changing gear to my favourite travel posts. In this post, I shared about places I visited and what I did there. I enjoyed myself when I was writing it, digging back to all my old photos and feel blessed whenever I read this post. One of the unforgettable experience was when I got to be a co-pilot, flying the plane above the Hoover Dam and to the Grand Canyon. I still feel excited talking about it after more than ten years. Pay for experience, not stuff.

Looking Back on My First Trip to Tokyo This is a recap of my first trip to Japan during Spring last year. After that first visit, I fell in love with Japan and have gone back twice since. Reading this post reminds me of the wonderful time I had in Tokyo.

Autumn in Barcelona – Gaudi Day  Another of my favorite post has to be my visit to Barcelona. I was told that it is not that safe in Barcelona as petty thieves tend to target at Asian tourists. Guess I don’t look like an easy target, therefore my experience in Barcelona has been great. Read about my visit to Gaudi’s two awesome masterpieces – La Sagrada Familia and Park Guell. Both places are must-visit when visiting Barcelona.

Nature Walk at The Southern Ridges Besides travelling overseas, I like to explore my home country. One of my favourite posts about exploring Singapore is the nature walk at the Southern Ridges. I did not plan for the walk but I had a wonderful time exploring the Southern Ridges, a highly recommended place to visit whether you live in Singapore or visiting as a tourist. You will be amazed by how well connected the parks are.

Magical Experience Building the Lego Cinderella Castle This post is about my experience and joy putting together the Cinderella Castle. The Lego Cinderella Castle contains over 4,000 Lego pieces separated into 14 stages with five Disney character mini-figures – Mickey Mouse, Minnie Mouse, Donald Duck, Daisy Duck and Tinker Bell. I had so much fun putting together the Cinderella Castle and writing about it made the experience magical. Looking at the Castle, always put a smile on my face.

Thank you for stopping by, Happy Living for Experiences!

And wishing all a very blessed Christmas!
