After reading Rogelio’s trip to Macau and the beautiful photos that he took, I thought it was time to revisit Macau. If you are following my Instagram, you would have seen my posts on my meals in Macau and Hong Kong.
The last I was in Macau which was also my first visit was more than six years ago. I was there for a day trip for business and hardly got to explore the place.
If you have been reading my blog, you would know that I am a spontaneous traveller. We booked our flight five days before our departure to Hong Kong. Just three days before our flight, we decided to take the ferry from the Hong Kong International Airport to Macau to optimise time instead of spending a night in Hong Kong then to Macau.
On the second day in Macau, we decided to spend one more day there. After extending a day in Macau, we booked our 2-night hotel stay in Kowloon, Hong Kong.
We did not do any planning except booking of the air tickets and the first two nights of hotel stay at Macau. We went with little expectation, just want to relax and enjoy the food in Macau and Hong Kong. If you are wondering if gambling is in the plan, the answer is no. I do not gamble.
Following is our brief itinerary:
Day 1 – Morning flight to Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) from Singapore Changi Airport. Took the ferry from HKIA SkyPier Ferry Terminal to Macau
Day 2 – Visited The Ruins of St Paul’s Church at Macau Peninsula
Day 3 – Spent the day at Taipa and the Museums
Day 4 – Took the ferry from Macau Ferry Terminal to Kowloon, Hong Kong
Day 5 – Ate, shopped and visited The Peak
Day 6 – Afternoon flight back to Singapore
It was a relaxing trip, lots of eating and walking. Glad that I managed to squeeze in this short getaway before I start my next chapter in life.
Will share more about my trip after I sort out all the photos. Stay tuned!
The trip was made in Spring 2017.

Thanks for sharing!! Have you always been a spontaneous traveler? I wish I could be spontaneous like yourself, I end up being quite the opposite when it comes to traveling as I tend to book my flights a month or two in advance 😂

Yes, typically I book my flight say at most three weeks ahead and decide what to do and where to visit a day before the flight. I find it more relaxing and I get to see more, not just what I planned to see.

Oh Macau must have changed a lot since we last went. And we too had read quite a bit about journeys to this former Portuguese enclave. Not being spontaneous (we are planners), we will probably have to sit this one out until we find the time to plan for a trip to Macau. Too much on the bucket list! LOL
