Sunshine Blogger Award

One of the things I enjoy about blogging is getting to know other bloggers all over the world. Bloggers are a great community of people who encourage and spur one another on and I am glad I am part of it.

A big thank you to Emma of Curly Girl Abroad Blog and Vanessa of Wanderlust Plus One nominating me for the Sunshine Blogger Award. It is wonderful to know that they enjoy reading my blog, a great encouragement to me.

When I received the nomination from Emma in early December, I did not respond to it as I would like my blog to be an award free blog. Just last week, I received my second nomination from Vanessa. It dawned on me that award nomination by fellow bloggers does not only serve as an encouragement to me, it is also an opportunity for me to encourage other bloggers by nominating them, letting them know they are doing a good job and I enjoy reading their blog.

Hop over to Emma’s and Vanessa’s lovely Sunshine Travel Blog to read about their adventures and experiences in travelling.

What is the Sunshine Blogger Award?

The Sunshine Blogger Award is given out by bloggers to fellow bloggers who blog about positive, happy and inspiring content. To me, this award serves as a recognition and encouragement to the bloggers being nominated, especially for new bloggers like myself. It is also a great way to discover other blogs and get to know your blogging community.

My Answer to Vanessa’s Questions…

Where would you most like to drink a cup of tea or coffee? It has to be at home, as I am a coffee drinker and I need to have a cup of coffee before I could feel fully awake. Another place that I would like to have coffee is Vietnam, love the Vietnamese coffee especially when served with condensed milk.

Which island would you most like to be stranded on? Wow, that’s a tough question as I would not like to be stranded and would not want to imagine getting stranded.

Swimsuit, hiking boots or ski suit? For someone who grew up in sunny Singapore, swimsuit, of course.

What would your preferred hotel style be? Modern, traditional, luxury…? Modern would be my preference though I would like to stay in a traditional hotel when I next visit Japan and Korea.

What’s and where is your favourite museum? Well, I would say is Prado at Madrid that I visited in November 2015. It was a pity that I only have a couple of hours there. Would love to spend a full day there if I am to visit Madrid again.

What are the cities you would most and least like to live in that you have visited? I would like to have a short term stay in Kyoto. I visited Kyoto last November and fell in love with it.  As to the city that I least like to live in that I have visited has to be Bangalore. Sorry, my fella bloggers and readers from India. I was there a couple of times for business about five years ago, the hotel I stayed in was beautiful, like a palace. And I got upgraded to a suite, with a separate living area and a huge balcony. The weather is also nice there, not hot like Singapore. But once I stepped outside of the hotel, it was a different world, I didn’t feel safe to move around on my own.

Where was your first flight to? My first flight was to Manila when I was in school. I was there for a mission trip.

How many countries have you visited? I have visited 26 countries of which about half in Asia.

Which language would you like to speak? I would like to learn to speak Japanese as I would like to learn more of their culture.

If you could travel back in time to meet a historical figure, who would it be and why? Ha, can I be greedy to name two rather than one? First would be Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of a unified China. The second would be Genghis Khan, the founder and Great Khan of the Mongol Empire. You noticed the commonality between these two great emperors of their time. Both were powerful leaders, military geniuses and brutal rulers that unified China. As for Genghis Khan, he conquered beyond China to substantial portions of modern Eastern Europe, Russia and West Asia.

Are there any places in the world you would not want to visit, and why? I would not want to visit places that are at war, places that are not safe.

    1. Thank you 🙂 I was in Madrid for just a few days as I extended my stay after my business trip. Check out my posts on my trip to Madrid for ideas on where to stay and visit. And do plan for a day trip to Toledo, 30 mins train ride from Madrid. I am sure you will love the place.
