Happy New Year!
Woke up at 7 am and glad the weather was great. I went for my first morning walk of 2017. It was a beautiful morning. Took my usual route, walked along the Singapore River. Today’s walk was longer than usual. I walked for 12 km, met my friend for brunch at the Kallang Wave Mall at the Singapore Sports Hub. It was a scenic walk, not having to cross any road except for a few bridges and underpasses. I captured some pictures using my iPhone along the way.
This picture was taken along Singapore River while I was walking towards Clark Quay. Across the River is Riverside Point (retail mall) connected via the Ord Bridge.
Walked past the Empress Place. Tourists stood in front of the marble statue of Singapore’s founder, Sir Stamford Raffles, the spot where Raffles is believed to have landed in 1819.
While crossing the Marina Bridge from Marina Barrage to Marina East Garden, I saw the ray of light shining through the cloud on to the sea. The ray of light was like God reminding me to pause and appreciate His creation around me. I stood there, admire His creation, the nature, and thank Him for the beautiful day.
After walking for 12 kilometers, I have finally reached my destination. Time for brunch. As I was craving for Thai food, we had Thai food for brunch.
As I was walking, I reflected on my last three months of 2016. While waiting for my friend, I jotted down my thoughts on the WordPress App on my iPhone which I will share in my next post.
Are you wondering if I walked home after brunch? No, I didn’t. My friend gave me a ride home. I was too tired after walking for 12 kilometers and the weather was too hot for walking under the sun.
