Magic Kingdom at Walt Disney World

Visiting Walt Disney World, Magic Kingdom is one of the many items in my bucket list. In July last year, this item in my bucket list was fulfilled. I was at Orlando to attend two conferences and was there for 12 days. Over the weekend, I went with my colleague to Walt Disney World – Magic Kingdom, the most magical place on earth, the place where dreams come true.

As we were there during summer, the weather in Orlando was super hot and humid and there were lots of people at the Magic Kingdom. There were queues just to get to the car park. After parking our rented car, we took a ferry to the Walt Disney World Resort.

Upon reaching the Magic Kingdom, first thing to do was to queue up to take picture with Mickey Mouse. By the time we arrived, there was already a long queue. We waited for more than an hour and I managed to take picture with Mickey Mouse. It was an exciting experience for me. I have taken pictures with the Disney princesses when I was at Disneyland in Anaheim, the happiest place on earth, years back but not with Mickey, as the queue was ridiculously long then. Glad I did it during this trip. 🙂

After taking pictures with Mickey, we visited the Cinderella Castle, took pictures of it and then went for lunch.

Half way through our lunch, the Disney characters were performing on the stage in front of the Cinderella Castle. How could I possibly miss their performance. I stopped eating and hurriedly walked towards the stage to watch the performance and took pictures of Mickey and Minnie.

We spent the rest of the day walking around, took rides, watched shows and it was evening, we watched the Main Street Electrical Parade and took lots of pictures. Then we walked towards the Cinderella Castle to watch the fireworks.

It was a magical experience for me and indeed my dreams came true, visited Magic Kingdom, took picture with Mickey Mouse, saw the Cinderella Castle and watched the fireworks. Yeah! 🙂

Wrapping up this post with Roy O. Disney’s dedication speech at Walt Disney World on 25 October 1971.

“Walt Disney World is a tribute to the philosophy and life of Walter Elias Disney…and to the talents, the dedication, and the loyalty of the entire Disney organisation that made Walt Disney’s dream come true. May Walt Disney World bring Joy and Inspiration and New Knowledge to all who come to this happy place…a Magic Kingdom where the young at heart of all ages can laugh and play and learn–together.”

  2. The inner child is in all of us. We too will never forget our Disneyworld experience. Honestly language is not the barrier. We have been to Tokyo Disney a few times and enjoyed it too! Its a wonderful place where adults can be children again.

  3. Thank you Audrey your post is evidence that the little people in us need to come out again and enjoy the world of fantasy once more.
Adulthood sometimes is hard work as the reality of life is overwhelming but it is good to just put aside the adult world and take on the child world to recreate saturated adult minds.
    The photographs are indeed magical.
